Smt. Leela Gopalan - Jayashree's mother
is herself a disciple of Gopalakrishna, Nattuvanar
of Alwarthirunagari, Meenakshi Nattuvanar
of Tiruchendur & E. Krishna Iyer initiated
her at the age of four & trained her constantly.
Tanjore Janakiraman Nattuvanar - from
Jamshedpur, gave formal training in a full
margem in Bharata Natyam and staged Jayashree
at the age of 8, in her Arangetram, at Rourkela,
and continued her training for several years.
Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam - the well
known dancer and research scholar, has groomed
Jayashree thoroughly in Bharata Nrityam (the
style evolved by her) widening her vision
of the art and enriching her technique and
repertoire and creating an identity for her
in the field of classical Indian Dance. She
has guided her to become a research scholar
and helped her revive several aspects of Marga
and Desi techniques in dance and theatre.
Guru Mahadev Raut - of Kabischandra
Kala Kendra, Rourkela, trained Jayashree in
Odissi with a rich repertoire in various talas,
ragas and themes which enabled her to give
several Odissi programmes all over India.
Kalamandalam Amritam - taught her
a few items in Kathakali and Mohiniattam,
in Alleppey.
